Nina Goyal

Nina Goyal, MD, FACS is an Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical Center and a glaucoma specialist in a multispecialty practice in the Chicagoland area. She is actively involved in clinical practice, resident education, and advocacy.

She graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine and went to complete her residency at Rush University Medical Center where she served as chief resident. She completed her Glaucoma fellowship with Dr. Theodore Krupin at University Eye Specialists. She specializes in complex cataract surgeries and the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, including expertise in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma (MIGS) techniques.

Dr. Goyal is the President Elect for the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons where she actively advocates for patient safety and access to care. She was the 2019 recipient for the Vince A. Persico Advocacy Award. Dr. Goyal is a participant in the Leadership Development Program through the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). She has earned a research grant from the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness and was the recipient of the Beem-Fisher Research Award. Dr. Goyal is a member of numerous professional and community organizations. She has participated in multiple cataract and glaucoma surgery mission trips to Honduras.

Dr. Goyal serves as a course instructor at many local and national Academy of Ophthalmology meetings, earning her an AAO Achievement Award. When she is not working, she enjoys skiing, hiking and running, having completed the four day Inca trail to Macchu Pichu and the Ragnar 200 mile overnight relay with her 12 woman team.
